Rosen (Rosenbluth), Pinhas
- Rosen (Rosenbluth), Pinhas
(1887-1978)
Israeli and Zionist leader, of German origin. He was born in Berlin. He served as chairman of the Zionist Organization of Germany (1920-3), and, after living in Palestine (1923-5), joined the Zionist Executive in London. In 1931 he returned to Palestine, where he practised law. He was active in the Aliyah Hadashah party, and in 1948 he became president of the Progressive Party. From 1949 to 1968 he was a member of the Knesset, serving as minister of justice in successive coalition cabinets (1948-61).
